We all know that serotion is the main chemical focused in depression and mood, but also dopamine. Do the two transmitters have their own charasteristics on mood, affect it in a diffrent way? dopamine is also a pleaseure chemical, is it more enjoyable?

some on this thread said that dopamine is pleasure here and now while serotonin is thinking about future, making plans and so on. it sounds true to me

yes dopamine is known as the feel-good transmitter..that is why smokers feel good when they smoke (dopamine released) and my occasional use of methamphetamine (release and blocks reuptake of dopamine) and also why i am taking 450mgs. wellbutrin daily along with 300mg. effexor xr and add 1500mg l-tyrosine on empty stomach in the morning
ssri's usually inhibit the release of dopamine and that is why i add l-tyrosine...precursor to that transmitter
This is the end of the thread.
