WB Weak Knees

Posted by femlite on October 3, 2003, at 22:46:50

Ive been on Wellbutrin 300mg XL going on 6 weeks.
Im still having difficulty with my legs. They feel like spagetti. Its not ongoing but intermitent.
Pdoc says not a possible side effect and that I should see a neurologist :>/
I dont recall this symptom before I started all current meds.(2 months ago)
WB 300mg xl am
neurontin 300mg am and pm
sonata 10mg pm

Switched from trazodone to sonata for sleep. Im sure that will help hangover. But weak knees persist.
Any ideas?
I do have a torn disc but thats been around for a few years. This symptom is so recent...along with, dizziness, intermittent fatigue.
The WB is helping but I need to get this leg thing sorted out as I realy dont need a new army of docs and batteries of new tests :>(
Any input would be helpful

I am currently on Remeron & have weak knees & legs so it is due to the ad. I didn't have this problem before I started the ad.Like you it goes in cycles-I have them for awhile & then they subside for a short time.

Hi Zena
How long have you been taking remeron?
Did you talk to your pdoc about it?

Hi Femlite,
I have been on remeron for one year & yes, I did talk to my Dr. about it. He suggested I see a neurologist but one of the side effects is muscle weakness. I am getting ready to go off klonopin & remeron. The side effects from the remeron are driving me crazy. I have constipation, swelling in my feet & ankles, muscle weakness & could sleep all day. I have tried so many ad's that haven't worked so going to see if I can do without. I have been going to a counsler for over a year so hopefully I can handle whatever life deals me.

Thanks for the reply,
It helps to hear of other's experiences
This is the second time Ive been told by this pdoc that my specific side effects "are not possible"
Her days are numbered. I just cant take someone expecting me to lay my persona in the palm of their hand to tinker with and not considering my perspective to be credible.
Again, thanks and my best

I actually had to quit taking Remeron due to SEVERE peripheral edema...my ankles swelled up like balloons and I couldn't walk more than a few blocks without being in excrutiating pain. By far, the weirdest side effect I've ever experienced from an AD... Keep an eye on those legs...if the swelling gets bad you should go off the drug...I was taken off it immediately as there was a real concern of the damage it was doing to my legs.

Could also be the neurontin. I had intermittent feelings of weakness/heaviness in my arms and legs that went away when I stopped neurontin. It wasn't bad enough to make me stop it - I went off for another reason - but I did notice that my arms and legs felt better when I stopped.
