NADH rocks and rules!!!

Posted by Maximus on July 21, 2003, at 12:59:24

Ahhhh life is so good :-)

First of all, thanks to you, psycho-babblers who have spoken about NADH.

I'm bipolar II and i'm on a combo of meds. After the failure of Lamictal (this silly has stopped working after 3 years), my pdoc put me on Lithium 900 mg + Effexor XR 150 mg + Remeron 30 mg.

Last week we added NADH 10 mg (this pdoc is open and wonderful) in the morning. Bang! Energy, joy, sexuality and mental clarity are back. My mind and my body are back together.

I think i have few side effects: a little bit insomnia (despite remeron), constipation and photo-sensibility.

I will keep you in touch.

Hi Max,

I had the same experience, but if you start to become irritable, back down on the dosage. I started out at 10 mg/day but after ten days I became VERY irritable. I currently take 2.5 mg of ENADA NADH once every six days.

Also I find some benefit in adding some TMG. I take 250 mg/day of TMG.

I've been on vacation and still am. I just stopped at a public library on the road. I say this only to say that I will not likely be available to respond to any follow-up posts (if any) for a while.

Advice noted. Thanks to you!

Hi all,

I've been taking Enada' NADH (10mg first thing in the morning and waiting 20-30 mins before eating) for about 2 weeks w/out any obvious effect.

Has anyone taken it but had a longer time before it kicked in?

What brands to you use?

thx,
-gs

That is SO cool! I'm really glad to hear of your success. And give a "pat on the back" to your pdoc, for us all.

As Ron says, and as I've experienced, the dose will probably need to be substantially reduced over time. And, TMH is a good combination for me, too.

Is NADH prescription or over-the-counter?

NADH is over-the counter. Enada NADH is supposed to be the best kind. Its available in vitamin stores.

Good Luck

Well, actually i take NAD, not Enada NADH. I didn't try yet Enada. But the NAD form i take is made by Swiss. Obviously this is not exactly the same thing. But the NAD works great for me.

Oh i will, i will :-)

Well, being given i take NAD instead of NADH, that may explain why i need 10 mg.

I don't know about TMH or TMG. I will do a search for that.

Thanks again.

It is a non-prescription compound.

That was a typo (I meant TMG, not TMH). Fatigued brain.

TMG is trimethylglycine. It is also known as betaine. If you buy betaine, make sure you get anhydrous betaine, or betaine freebase, *not* betaine hydrochloride.

I tried Enada NADH and, altough it worked, I had an interesting and potentially very dangerous side effect. Severl times while driving, I managed to cut off other cars because I just didn't see (or, "register") them in my conciousness. Of course, I quit taking it immediately. Anybody have similar problems?
