Enada NADH available in Canada???

Posted by Maximus on July 13, 2003, at 9:52:31

Hi,

I need a quick and natural fix for my lost of energy. I'm back on antidepressants since the Lamictal has stopped working.

I respect this board and i understand this is not the place to post it. So if you have any information if Enada is available in store in Canada, or a good place in USA, please email me at:

bdion@videotron.ca

Thanks in advance!

It's not a prescription medication, or a controlled substance, so there is no problem in discussing sources of this supplement.

I haven't found a Canadian source, but that doesn't mean that there isn't one.

I don't know the URL, but iherb (just put that in Google) has good prices. The issue with buying from the States is the flat-rate shipping. It makes sense to put together a good-sized order, unless cost isn't that huge an issue for you.

Well, due to our poor canadian dollar, i have found this link:

It is NAD. Is NAD as good as NADH?

Any inputs?

Thanks!

Well, I haven't used that product. My understanding is that NAD will be decomposed in the stomach, unless it is enteric coated. In other words, you might as well use niacin, and hope your body can reconstitute NAD/NADH as needed.

I think Swiss changed the label because they realized their product was not equivalent to Enada NADH (cynical view). Swiss is a local brand (headquarters about 100 km from my home), and I use many of their products. But I don't use this one.

The Enada product all comes from an Austrian company, and their patented process. There are different companies marketing the Enada product, but I think they're all selling the same stuff.

I don't know the specifics of the products, but I'd think NADH would be more desirable. The H (hydrogen) it possesses is used by cells to regenerate ATP, a primary source of metabolic energy. NAD is the "carrier", and normally gets the H (really an electron from hydrogen, which is nothing but an electron plus a proton) from breakdown of carbohydrates and other foods.

So maybe NAD would help, but I'd put my money on Enada NADH. It has the enteric coating which allows it to bypass the acidic stomach environment and enter the more alkaline intestine. I use it from time to time, and it does seem to provide a lift. Like LH, I recommend www.iherb.com -- they're very reliable and have reasonable prices, although I don't know the details of shipping across the border (I live in the U.S., although I'm a Canadian and lived in Canada most of my life).

Good luck!
