When electrical stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus was used to treat Parkinson's disease in two patients, it also alleviated symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). French researchers report that the patients' OCD symptoms all but disappeared within about 2 weeks of their surgery.

I have a Medtronics ES implant, as far as OCD goes it doesn't help at all. I've had the implant since '99(Fall), I wish it did though!

Is it the same as the Vagus Nerve Stimulator implant or transcranial magnetic stimulation?
