Paxil/Effexor Nightmares

Posted by shadez on July 9, 2003, at 14:39:49

I wondered if anyone has had extreme nightmares while taking Paxil? I'm currently on 20mg/daily. I've had extreamly horrible nightmares when I was on Effexor. I can't usally sleep more then 5-6 hours. Does anyone else seem to have a lot of side effect with Paxil?

My husband is in the transition from Paxil to Lexapro. I can tell you that on Paxil he was very tired all the time and couldn't sleep. He doesn't remember his dreams or nightmares, but boy is he active when he sleeps.

I don't take Paxil or Effexor but I suffer from horrible nightmares. I dream of war, of capture, of torture, of killing. My Doc dismisses them. Not that I want yet another drug to take, but are the nightmares anything to be worried about?

effexor is the only AD i've used that doesn't cause nightmares.
