MAOI + Zyprexa- who's on this combo?

Posted by ace on July 1, 2003, at 23:42:52

We here so much about SSRI + Zyprexa, who's on an MAOI + Zyprexa?

More importantly, how does it work together?

Thanks crew,
Ace.

I have had excellent results with this combination. The weight gain from Zyprexa is demoralizing though.

Hey man!,
Yeah, weight gain is a prob- were you on Parnate or Nardil? Zyprexa has some effects preety quick for depression and anxiety but the real huge effects are said to come around the 3/4/5 week mark- did you notice this?

Take Care,
Ace.

I have been on Parnate for years but it was the addition of Zyprexa that really did the trick. I did find that there was a big difference in only a matter of days and that it held pretty steady over the ensuing weeks.
Unfortunately the weight has gotten to be too much and the doctor is switching me to Abilify. If the depression comes back full force, I'll jump right back on the Zyprexa and learn to be a fat person.

I'm on 100 mgs of Parnate which is a pretty massive dose. I've been on it for a few years. The doctor wants to start reducing it when everything else is stable.

I've been on anywhere from 2.5 to 10 mgs of Zyprexa. At 2.5 I can actually lose weight, at 5 I can gain slowly if i work out, but with each increase comes more weight. At 10, I put on 17 pounds no matter what I did.
