vivid dreams

Posted by Capri on July 6, 2003, at 20:55:54

Hi Everyone,

Anyone know why some people have such vivid dreams on AD's?? I'm taking Lex for a week and I have some awesome dreams. I've been out of grammar school for 25 years and I've been having dreams of my classmates and people I associated with back then.

Hi Capri, I can't believe I came across this. YES!!! I have been having the same thing. I'm just starting the AD Effexor, I don't know if it's the Topamax or the Cogentin I'm taking but I'm having these dreams too of people I went to school with from my past-whats up with that??? LOL These meds are something else. My dreams are clear as a bell too. Do you remember yours? How do they make youu feel? It's weird.

Hi Gal,

I remember my dreams from start to finish. Last night I dreamt I was hangin with my brother-in-law which is really erie. Don't know if I'll be able to look at him the say way again (lol).

I was never a dreamer before these meds...I heard it's a good thing to dream though! I think it depends on the dream.

Hi Capri, weird dream huh?! Watch out brother lol
The other night I had a dream that an old childhood friend died and I was at her funeral crying and I was the only one who was looking at her pretty picture all her real friends at the moment were just sitting there kicking back. Now that was weird.
What meds are you taking? I'm taking Topamax and Cogentin, I take Effexor like every other day-not really taking it every day-don't know why-kind of like I wonder if I need it, some days I feel good then some days I'm depressed-maybe my depression is lifting-could be that Topamax is all I need. I think the Cogentin is doing it although I'm still not sure why I'm on it-just floating by the seat of my pants I guess.

Hello,

I just started Lexapro 5 mg for anxiety. Been on it for 10 days. Was on Paxil CR 12.5 mg for 7 days before that and Effexor for 6 weeks before that. See I've been quite busy with all of these meds so I guess that's why my brain is all wacky with these dreams!

Hi Capri, I've heard so much here about Lexapro-
never tried that one---yet lol
you're probably right it could be all the meds going in and out of your system that's maybe causing all the dreams.
Ohhhh what meds can cause!! How did you like Effexor? Did you gain weight? Get anxious? What dosage were you able to get up to? Sorry for all the questions........

Take care,
Gal

Hi Gal,

I started taking 1/2 the dose of 37.5 mg for 3 weeks then went to 37.5. I tried taking 75mg on my 6th week but I got really depressed.

Effexor made be very hyper. I needed to take a Klonopin before bed. Headaches and dry mouth for first week. Gave me NO appetite!! Not sure I lost weight on the Effexor though because I do work-out. Didn't feel better on it so my doc switched it. My uncle's been on it for 4 years...he absolutely loves Effexor. Doubt he'll ever go off.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Hi capri, well just call me miss "non-med compliant". I missed 3 days of Effexor-I feel as if I dont need it because I feel better so I stop it-is that ridiculous or what-yes it is. I am also forgetful too. So tonight I feel really ill. I need to start back on it tomorrow and stick with it or I am going to cause a problem for myself:(
wish me luck please. I hope you are doing well. Please let me know.

Take care
gal
