Nardil: THE depression/anxiety/OCD smasher!!

Posted by ace on May 27, 2003, at 22:10:50

Holy smoke!

I'm in awe of this baby...again!

I'm on 60mg and boy is it working...much better than 90mg. When I say it's working...I mean the below figures...

Depression- 98% relieved

Phobic Anxiety/Derealization - 92% relieved

OCD - 90% relieved

SP - 95% relieved...

The big thing for me is the OCD...for some reason it is working much better for it at the lower dose...my jaw is on the ground! Thoughts which used to kill, simply mean nothing!

I heard of this somewhere before...one person mentioned at 60mg they are fine...then at 75mg they are depressed again...this is what I wanted to mention to Ben.

If this continues I don't really see a need for augmentation. I might even go to 45mg...that might get figures up to 100%.

S/effects at the moment: Sedation, increased sex drive (no anorgasmia..yet...cross your fingers for me!), hypomania at times.

More later!

I truly hope you all gain the same peace and happiness I have with my Nardil...God knows you all deserve it.

Ace.

Funny you should mention, this time around at 75mg it seems to be working better on my social anxiety, at 90mg I still use to have problems with sweating and feeling hot all the time, but not anymore... I wonder if I would have the same benefit from 60mg......

glad your back on nardil, i am too :)
my old body is back - 180 lbs

Ace,

You know I'm totally with you on Nardil and how great it can be. I'm also so glad you made the decision to get back on it, you sound SO much better. I have to mention as well that I do better on 60mg at the moment than I did on 75 or 90. It's also good because that keeps the SE's down. Best wishes!

Ace, you did get me for a second. I was like, what did I do this time?

Anyway, check out jerrympls's post down below. I tell you, it never ceases to shocks me what jerks some (most?) psychiatrists are. I am lucky that I have found one who is compassionate.

Just one thing to keep in mind, though--I think it might be BETTER if a dr has gone through the hell of depression or anxiety himself/herself, at least he/she can understand what it's like. If they have to live for months with debilitating depression, electric shock feelings from AD withdrawal, or insomnia from benzo withdrawal, they're better equipped--at least theoretically to empathize.
But if there's anything that pisses me off--is a person who doesn't know the answer to something--and they can't or won't admit their ignorance--so they pretend to be smart, and in the process, get YOU more screwed up.
