Please Help!!!!

Posted by Krissy P on March 27, 2003, at 0:28:17

In NO way am I trying to come across as needy here, so please, please don't think that. But I really need some help.
I don't feel well tonight. I see my doc Fri, and I am getting confused as to what meds I want to run by her. I am thinking Celexa, Lexapro, and Wellbutrin. I have gotten a lot of help from some poseters about their experiences on these meds, for that IO ma grateful.
Tonight, my head feels weird, blury vision, and my body aches, something is NOT right! I am scared-VERY scared. I have a little SI, which I haven't been ina long time. This is not cycling-I just have had it with everything about me, tghe way I handle things, my physical state-it's stupid. Yes, I can call my doc, but I have been through so much crap with feeling bad, I hate to go in and be told there's nothing wrong with me. If there isn't then why do I feel like I am going to pass out? I weighed myself tonight-mistake. I really am scared, my body hurts, my head hurts, and I can't go on like this. There is something going on and I honestly do not know what it is.
Can anyone help please???

Hey i really for you, i have been in that state feeling bad all over all i can do is look forward to feeling better again. As to the med's out of all of them i have had the most success with WEllbutrin SR i took 150 in the am and 150 in the afternoon. some people say it acts kind of like a stimulant give you a little more energy etc...

I really hope you get well, i find laying down collecting my thoughts and listening to some nice ambient music helps.

Sounds like you're having a panic attack - with luck you're already sleeping and will wake in the morning with some relief. If not - know with confidence that panic and anxiety will not hurt you. It feels terrible and is scary and feels like your body is broken and failing you- all part of what your body is SUPPOSED to do when it's faced with certain situations. Problem is sometimes (for those of us with panic/anxiety problems) it will detect danger when there isn't any.

What meds are you taking currently. Any benzos? Anything that you can take to get you over a bad hump?

About what to say to your doc on Friday - I agree- write down your thoughts. and experiences Do you keep a journal?

I also don't know your Rx history - I know you've been struggling and I'm sure you've tried many many things. But not sure what has worked in any way and what hasn't.

In any event, hang in there. This is the hardest, scariest thing - but can be managed. Keep the faith and know that there IS an answer. You just haven't found it yet.

Some meds that come to mind that you can ask your Pdoc about are luvox, mirapex. Not neccesarily both at once. These are two of the best AD's that are often overlooked. Good Luck.

Krissy -

First and foremost, HANG IN THERE. I hate to simplify this, but there is one word that I have found applies to all this crapola with not feeling well, etc. and that is PATIENCE. You and your pdoc WILL find the right meds.

I would echo everything that has already been posted under here.

From what you described about how something is NOT right I would say it has to do with the meds you are currently on. I don't know your cocktail, but my guess would be one or more of the is not working or is not combining right with the others.

I don't know how long you've been on whatever you're on, if something was added recently, that could account for what sounds like sudden bad symptoms.

A wise thing to do is write down EVERYTHING you are experiencing for your pdoc appointment. Heck, if that's too much to handle, just print out your thread here. It has a lot of info in it.

GOOD LUCK and please keep me/us posted. I'm rooting for you. I've "been there, done that" so I know exactly how you feel.

Hi mrporter1,
thanks for your reply. Currently, I am taking EffexorXR, Lamictal, Seroquel, and yes, a benzo, Klonopin.
Finally, I see my pdoc in the am tomorrow, and I hope she listens. I will tell her what's been going on and someone suggested I print out the copy of my popst, so that's what I did:-)
I will show my pdoc.
I am thinking that this time around, Lamictal was added to my EffexorXR, when Effexor usually helps ALONE. I am thinking that the Lamictal may be decreasing the positive effects I get from taking the EffexorXR without this Lamictal-do you think?
A really good thought, I hope.
Thanks again,Kristen

Hi I almost forgot something very important. You said here ('if something was added recently, that could account for what sounds like sudden bad symptoms')
-YES Lamictal was added to my EffexorXR when on EfexorXR alone I didn't feel this way. I wonder. Tomorrow is the day. wow I wish I could say I'm going on a cruise, but I'm not-just to my pdoc-but it is oh soooooooo important:-)
lol

Holy cow - I have experience with Lamictal also. The first time I took it, I got up to 100 mg/day and it did nothing.

The second time I took it I was also on EffexorXR and could only get to 25 mg/day of Lamictal because there must have been some interaction between the two that was making me VERY jittery, edgy and anxious. I stopped the Lamictal and it subsided.

Can't wait to hear the outcome of your pdoc visit.

best wishes 2 U
