Low dose selegiline (L-Deprenyl) in social phobia.

Posted by Franz on January 16, 2003, at 20:02:47

Hello,
Anyone have a copy of this study? (found in medline)

Low dose selegiline (L-Deprenyl) in social phobia.

Simpson HB, Schneier FR, Marshall RD, Campeas RB, Vermes D, Silvestre J, Davies S, Liebowitz MR.

Anxiety Disorders Clinic, New York State Psychiatric Institute, NY 10032, USA.

Publication Types:

Clinical Trial

Or can make a comment?. I read social phobia is related to dopamine receptors*, but in which way could deprenyl help?.

Thanks

* Dr. Franklin Schneier, Liebowitz & their colleagues have found indications that socially phobic patients may have fewer brain dopamine receptors.

I don't have that particular study, but, from others I have read...deprenyl is NOT effective for panic and phobic symptoms.
