I took it and it worked for me but not until 1200mg. That gets expensive. The brand my doc told me to buy is Nature Made. Read the book on Sam-e--"Stop Depression Now" by Richard Brown.

Best,
Lia

I'd just like to plug the double double quotes feature:

But I don't mean to be pushy. Did you deliberately not use it to link to Amazon? If so, I'd be interested in why, over at Psycho-Babble Administration:

Thanks!

Lia needed 1200 mg. It seems that a lot of poeple need 1200 to 1600 mg for monotherapy. As Lia stated, it is very expensive. If you decide to try it, Costco and BJ's have lower prices than stores like Walmart, Target, or other stores.

Start with 400 mg per day taken when you wake up in the morning on an empty stomach. It's best not to eat for at least an hour or 2 after taking it. If you have health insurance with drug coverage, prescription drugs are the much cheaper way to go and they are also effective. SAM-e has the advantage of not causing sexual side effects like some drugs. I strongly reccommend that you see your family doctor and get his advice.

They also recommend you take folic acid and B12 to prevent buildup of homocystine. Not sure i spelled that right. Also... CVS runs Nature Made on 50% sale often. I get all mine there. Haven't paid full price yet.
