Hi, Celexa did not work for me either.

Of the ones you listed - I have tried:

Effexor -- bad, bad bad FOR ME; my experience with it was that it was too activating - made me jittery, anxious, nervous and feel overcaffeinated. It also numbed my emotions out - I felt no happiness and no sadness either. Very weird and hard to describe.

Paxil -- this worked VERY well for me and kicked in almost immediately. I was on it for about 7 years before it pooped out.

Zoloft -- seemed to help a bit but then I plateau'd and became increasing irritable and short tempered so I stopped it.

I have not tried the others you mentioned (Luvox, Serzone) Overall, I'd say the one that worked best for me was Paxil.

NOTE: This is just one person, my, experiences. Your mileage may vary. What works for some people, does not for others. Good luck!

Hi Jesse,

I tried all those. If you want something more
stimulating and with less sexual side effects than
Effexor (most stimulating) and Zoloft might work
better.

Paxil is roughly similar but results vary person
to person.

Luvox is rarely used in U.S. Most people don't
like it. It's different though and who knows you
might like it.

Serzone is pretty unique and unpredictable. Dose
changes effects. Also, it may actually cause
irratibility and agitation in spite of the claims
that it is a good med for anxiety. If agitation
occurs, it often will end up working well in
combination with certain SSRI's, especially Zoloft.

Good luck!

Hi,
I have tried all of the medicines you listed. I'm not sure what info on them you are looking for.

My vote however would be for none of them, but instead Prozac. Have you tried Prozac? Either Effexor or Zoloft would be my next choices after that.

Hi...

What dosage are you using? We have had Celexa here in Sweden for 8 years. The Manufacture recommend max 60mg. I have seen severel treathmentresisten depression, that respond on 100-120mg.
Another option is to add Remeron to Celexa. You must give it a fairl trial. Since you have had many years of struggeling, with depression, Litium augmention is a very good stratergi, with many benefits in the long run, or Lamictal.

Don´t give up....There is always others option.

Best Wishes...

Petters
