Wellbutrin and Ecstasy

Posted by Thomas Allen Brown on May 24, 2001, at 14:14:55

I am wondering if anyone has had experience with wellbutrin (200mg/day) and ecstasy. I know it is a stupid thing, but i may try it and would like to know if i will have a seizure and possibly die. Thank you.

"I know it is a stupid thing,"

You may have answered your own question. Every time I am about do something and I hear this little voice in me head saying,"This is really stupid." I, more often than not, should have listened.

No experience here, but an interaction is unlikely. Wellbutrin is not a serotonergic drug, nor does it lower the seizure threshold significantly in the dose range that is used clinically (especially if you take Wellbutrin SR). If you're intent on trying MDMA and you're still worried about seizures, you could stop the Wellbutrin a couple days before taking the ecstasy, and wait a day or two before starting it again.
