Lin - Not really. Weight gain with Zyprexa™ (olanzapine) has been linked to a number of other factors. The most common being that (perhaps) the better the Zyprexa works for you, the more weight you gain. Also, people who are underweight tend to gain more weight (increase their body mass index - BMI) than someone who is already overweight. As well, the weight gain has also been tentaively linked to plasma leptin levels, blockade of the serotonin-2C (5HT-2C) receptors, and increased carbohydrate craving. There are a couple others that don't come to mind, right now. I don't believe any of the relationships have being proven conclusively.
As for weight gain being dose related, I have seen a person gain 30lb in a month on 2.5mg daily and someone taking 35mg daily lose weight.
If I had to guess, I'd say that the effect/weight gain parameter is the most consistent I've seen (but, then again, I have seen people gain lots of weight with Zyprexa, but still have florid hallucination and delusions).
