nausea is killin' me/Pepto Bismol day

Posted by Donna Lynn on September 10, 2000, at 19:08:50

Ever since I added the Serzone (100mg) to my Trazodone (75mg) the nausea has become so bad and I'm so exhausted that I feel like I can't handle both. I can hardly get out of bed. A half bottle of Pepto Bismol a day! Either that or I'll starve to death. My depression has lifted a bit from the Trazodone, but my social anxiety has not been helped. Does anyone know if I can just take the Serzone and quit the traz? I'm meeting with my doctor on the 25th, but I don't want to bother him (again!) but I don't want to stay like this till then, either. Any help?

I am also a serzone user, and I also have stomach
problems as you do. I am a frequent user of stomach
relief products. I recommend the following:
Try a different array of stomach aids, such as
pepcid, zantac, and gaviscon. And if all else fails
do what I would do when nausea gets to me. Try smoking
high quality marijuana, I can almost guarantee it
will make the majority of the side effects from the
serzone go away.
Let me here back from you and good luck

NO! NO! NO!
I don't care what medical benefits there are to smoking grass, it's still illegal, so DON'T use it,
or you'll *really* have a case of BIG TIME nauseaousness in the slammer!

Get tested for H. PYLORI, which is a bacteria that lives in the mucous lining of the stomach. It could
very well be that the source of your stomach problem are these billions and billions of nasties eating away
at your stomach lining. Via a simple blood test, your doctor can determine if you have this. BTW, on the average,
60 percent of all people on this planet got this Goddamn thing, and this number increases by leaps and bounds.

The clue you provided which indicates to me that it might be H.PILORI is when you said you're consuming
bottles of Pepto-Bismol to ease the pain. Well, let me tell you that Bismuth salts, the key ingredient in
Pepto-Bismol, is the only stuff that kills the bacteria, but unfortunately isn't concentrated enough to do
the job completely. With a protocol of antibiotics and PREVACID (Z-PAK), you can rid yourself of this
crap in 7 days. I had H. Pilori since mid 1970s, which did a nice job eating three holes in my stomach;
i.e., duodenal ulcers. Since its identification two years ago, I don't have it any more. What a relief!

FYI: it was an Australian doctor who first discovered the stomach bacteria in the late 1970s, an idea that
was poo-pooed by American doctors, naturally. What does this tell you about American medicine? IT SUX THE BIG ONE!

I would think as nausea is often assoc with 5-Ht and you are on
2 5-HT agents, there you are. Pot is more effective for nausea
than anything perscribed, it is what I use. The legality is of course
something each has to weigh. Here in New Mexico the Spanish and Indian
healers have used C. sativa for centuries so i follow their
lead and knowlage.

Thanks for the tip, but I remember that a long time ago when I smoked a little pot as a teenager experimenting, it made me verrrrrry paranoid. I need that like a hole in my head right now, I'm the Queen of the Squirrelies as it is, so I think I'll pass. Thanks anyway! D.

James here....

You are wise to avoid as this is a clear contraindication !
The legal implacations are significant, too. I have used
phenobarbitol + bellebonna with sucess and there are other
antinausea agents, check with your doc. No reason to suffer
alone.

Try ginger; either the root itself or nibble on ginger cookies. Just something to try.

I agree with you, my dear!
Smoking grass to get rid of nausea is on the same level of stupidity as dropping acid to get rid of
the drizzly shits. I don't understand why one has to change their consciousness, as well as all
sensory perception, just to get rid of a simple metabolic discomfort. Now, do you have anything
for a bad case of the farts?

I had the same horrible effect with Serzone, and at some point several times a week I'd wind up lying on my office floor sweating and feeling like I was about to pass out, very nauseated, and holding a bottle of Pepto Bismol. Switching to Effexor helped a lot.

By the way Costco sells "Pink Bismuth," 2 bottles shrink-wrapped together for less than $4. That makes it much cheaper than Pepto, and "Pink Bismuth" isn't so sickly sweet tasting.

James here.....

Pot is specific to nausea, acid doesn't help with
"the drizzly shits". No stupidity here as even oncologists accept that pot is more effective than anything else for nausea.

Peppermint tea is very good for nausea, just make sure it is real peppermint leaves, not just 'flavoring'. This is also a great remedy for gas (relieves the cramps and reduces odor).
just an FYI, CarolAnn
