More biomedical here, more psychosocial there

That's part of the rationale for Psychosocial-Babble:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/social

Not that it has to be really "serious" here, there's room for chat, too, but if the focus could be on psychopharmacology here and other issues there, everyone should have an easier time finding whatever it is they're interested in.

The key, I think, is developing a critial mass over there. Please give it a try? Thanks,

Bob

Sorry Doc, geez, the babble police is after me;^)

just kiddin' doc. I'll try to keep my socializing to the other board but you have to give us time to get used to it ok?

Hmm, would it work better the other way around? With the medication-type issues elsewhere and the established connections staying here? Maybe...

If I'm going to change course, it should be quickly...

That's a hard call Doc... We all have bookmarks set to this page, we would have to change them and you know what a pain that can be! :-) Not that I post here as often as most, but it is a nice spot... I checked out the other boards today and didn't see much activity on them yet, but give them time... "Build it and they will come". I was also curious about who uses this site for research? It would be a wonderful place to see how your meds are working with the ppl you have made them for and get ideas for new ones.... Just a thought. I'm sure they already know, anyhoo...

I think it would be better to do that doc. We're all used to coming here for the support side of babble. Maybe the medical could go elsewhere. Would make more sense don't ya think?

Dr Bob,

Since I am new here I may not have the same trouble agreeing/disagreeing with the masses about this one but...I think the Social Board is a good idea.

I had stumbled across this board while looking for info on AD meds and have become involved...well I like the general idea of keeping the meds and social seperate, but, I also feel that *Maybe* others would prefer not to seperate the two? So if the other board doesnt take off, maybe a reorganization of the layout of the threads could work in that instance? Just a thought.

Don't break what is fixed ! Leave this one here
and grow the psycosocial one. Perhaps as ppl post here about psycosocial issues we could, gently, very gently, prompt ppl to take it to the other
list.

I went back to the thread in which I originally brought up splitting things up:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20000630/msgs/39641.html

Another idea suggested there was to have "micro" and "macro" boards, focused on individual and societal issues, respectively. Maybe it wouldn't be so problematic to split off the "macro" issues? OTOH, that wouldn't lighten the load here as much...

Bob
