I think the board filled up a little quickly, easy to get lost in the shuffle. So, I'll second Brenda with the addition of my own. Phil, the job still bearable? You surviving the new schedule? Hope to hear word of you soon :-)

Muchas gracias - I was going to ask you next if you were able to contact him. Maybe he's golfing?!

I'm okay. Job sucks. Called in sick today and went looking. Seem to be doing better on just Klonopin and Ritalin, despite errors of judgement on career moves.

Thanks for the concern,

Phil

Sorry to hear the job turned out to be so bad. I hope you're doing well in spite of it. Golfing at lunch didn't help, huh?
Be well and good luck in your renewed search. B.

Brenda, Thanks again. For my personality type, emotional type, whatever, this is the worst place I could have landed. After about a week, I began to understand the word chaos in a whole new light.

I'm supposed to be there at 7 a.m. and don't have a clue YET if I'll walk in and resign, ask for a transfer to another dept or try to just tough it out.

Everyday at lunch, I would sit in my truck, in the parking lot, and wonder if I should even go back in! That's not good.

My little problem is MONEY. And it's very bad right now. I'm really diggin' this great economy everyone says we have...

Phil, you are still a brave man, whether you quit or keep dragging through the motions. I'm seriously bummed for you. And you're absolutely right about the sitting in your truck during lunch and having a hard time going back in, that is definitely not a good sign. Is the place just too much? Is there any people there to lend you a warm conversation, or a reference point as to whether or not the environment gets better after a while? Darn money anyway, it makes so many people do what they hate and abhor, and causes so much stress to the already burdened. Is the turnover/burn-out rate high there? Can you use any of the newly acquired experience, even if short-lived, to move on to something similar but different? It'll be hard, and I hope you don't feel alone, I wish we could somehow carry the burden with you. Good vibes, good thoughts and strength, lots of strength to back you up, that's what I telepathically send to you.

My thoughts will be with you tomorrow, as will my prayers. Let us know how it goes either way. And take care Phil!

Janice, There's some goofy companies out there. I keep going back while trying to find something else when I can. I feel like Peter Frampton! One good album and now...whew.
This kind of adversity makes me stronger sometimes but it's a helluva way to get there.
On the meds, Ritalin and Klonopin and survival instincts, have taken care of the depression. Even though I'm starving, I don't feel depressed, I feel determined! I hope it holds up.

Glad you're feeling determined and okay. and you're right, there are some goofy companies out there...very goofy!

I'm a bit concerned about starving because it could contribute to depression. But I'm sure you know this. Personally, if it came down to it, I'd probably steal for food or beg (not on the street - not my style).

Anyway, around here...we know this kind of stuff is all externals. Keep us up-to-date Phil, as we will all be wishing you the best, and curious as to your where-a-bouts. Janice
