Happy new year to you too.

What could possibly go wrong with the server? Whatever happens, we have no shortage of ssris, maois, snris, antipsychotics, or anticonvusants to fix it. And we can augment it with just about anything. :-) jamie

DR Bob, Best holiday and new year to you as well. I'm convinced that the server, banks, electric companies etc... will be fine. I could be wrong, My wife will tell you I've been wrong many times on many issues!! But she is the best that has happened to me! Thanks for all of your hard work on this site, it must be a chore. I appreciate your sticking with your ideas for the site, which obviously have led us today to a posting location where the interaction between posters is fantastic. I have learned so much (taken with a grain of salt). My gp is amazed at what I've "taught" him on maoi's, mine in particular, Parnate (working great augmented w/ lithium). The amount of respect I have earned from him is unreal. Oh well, I'm rambling, so happy new year into the mil. or is does it really start 2001?!

God Bless,

S. Suggs

Happy New Year to Dr. Bob and all my fellow Babblers! I'm so happy to have found a site whre the people genuinely seem to care about one another, and carry on intelligent discussions. My psychiatrist pooh-poohs anything I tell him I've learned from the internet. If I showed him a sample of discussions on this site, I bet he'd quickly have to change his tune.

Thank you Dr. Bob and all Babblers for a great site. Since I've been coming here I have earned a greater respect in my doctor's eyes because I come in well informed and offering options that I never knew about. We actually sit and have intelligent conversations about the plusses and minusses of certain meds. It's in a great part thanks to everyone here.

Thanks Again,
Chris

Thank you, Dr. Bob, for this amazing "place". I consider it to be part of my treatment plan, and a powerful on, at that.

Thank you, fellow babblers for your insight and information, your personal stories, your humor, and support.

Happy New Year to All.

You're welcome! I'm glad this site's helped some people. It shows, I think, how powerful peer support can be.

Bob

PS: And now the new year shouldn't show up as "100" anymore...

Oops, "0" wasn't exactly right, either...

No problemo Dr. Bob, posting in the year "O" has a nice Twilight Zone edge to it. Let me add my thanks to you for this site. I think it also bespeaks the power of the internet for good. I'm amazed by the number of posts for this day alone.

It's definitly a day for new beginnings. I think the day when treatments and meds that really work is not too far away.

Last night on TV (CSPAN - did anyone see it?) there was a guy from MIT talking about all these new tehnologies. One of the things he was talking about were nanobots (atom-sized robots) that could travel in brain to control synapses and turn on or off switches, etc. Unfortunately it was 3am and I was drifting in and out of sleep and was only catching snatches of it.

I saw a piece about nanobots the other night, too. Cool. As I was watching it, I said out loud, That is where the cure for depression will come from.

I also thought, tho, it makes for great scifi movie plots.
