Parnate info

Posted by Mark on December 10, 1999, at 2:06:45

For anyone interested in obtaining more info. about social phobia, check out this website: www.anxietynetwork.com/.
They say that Parnate is better than Nardil for social phobia, works faster, and has less side effects. I was intent on trying Parnate, but after reading people's experiences on this forum, I decided that Nardil might be the better choice. How valid is the info on this website?

Mark:

The information in this site is very reliable. I cannot say enough nice things about it and the well informed posters. Granted, like any source (including quack md's) you may see some odd info. I always keep in mind that some of the information may be a little off, but this is the place you will find the information most docs are not aware of. I will say that there are a lot of highly educated posters on this site that are well listened to. Try to use as much of your own logic and reason when using this site before speaking with your doc. When you get a good train of thought on a subject, search in other locations to verify, you may be suprised at what you may find (wow, Psycho-Babble was right). Best wishes and Blessings!

>I have read the info on the site you have mentioned. There is some interesting info listed. However, I found my experience with parnate to be not as great as they suggested it might be. I only stayed on it for 10 days, but found the side effects much greater than nardil. I have since began nardil again and experrience no side effects at all, except me some sleep disturbance which can be controlled. I stopped nardil because of the weight gain and was tempted to try parnate because of the info in that site you mentioned. It was not great for me, some others have had different results.
