BRUCE are you there?

Posted by Luke on December 8, 1999, at 17:40:14

Bruce, long time no see. Are you still taking rebox? If so, how's it going? All is well here. I think rebox is a very ... subtle?? ... AD. It's positive effects seem to have almost snuck up on me during the past few weeks.

But then I also took a two week vacation from work, got laid and put an end to a heavy drinking habit. So I'm not sure exactly what role the rebox has played in the lifting of my mood. Let me know how it's going with you.

Good luck. Luke

Hello, Luke!

Good to hear from you. I agree with your assessment of Reboxetine. I 'suddenly' noticed I wasn't depressed anymore (it's been about 5 1/2 weeks since the start of the drug). I also noticed I was definitely more talkative in social settings, business meetings, etc. with only little or no anxiety about what I'd said or done. On the negative side, I am still peeing slowly and mildly constipated, and still have retrograde ejaculation. Still, this is a worthwhile drug.

Glad to hear you are doing better. My vote is that getting laid is the best 'augmentation strategy'..... ;)

Bruce, I meant to ask you - are you still at 2 mg BID?
I am, and at this point I have no plans to up the dosage. What about you?

Glad to hear you guys are doing well. I just received my Rebox. yesterday. See my pdoc Mon. and would like to taper Nortrip and ramp up on da Rebox. Wish y'all continued success.

I'm also glad to hear that the Rebox is working well for the two of you. Does anyone know where the approval stands in the US right now? The last I heard it was supposed to be available in January. My pdoc and I talked about switching from Nortrip when the Rebox comes out. Hopefully that will be soon.

Oh!

I have no plans to increase dosage. I am still at 2mg bid. I am curious as to what 4mg bid would bring, but afraid of the (already) strong anticholinergic side effects.

If the anticholinergic effects are that strong, and if it causes sexual difficulties in males, what advantage is there over a tricyclic?

I have no experience with tricyclics, but I will say I prefer rebox over any of the several SSRIs I have taken.
Unlike Bruce, I have experienced no constipation. The sexual side effects, though bad at first, have almost completely disappeared for me. A little bit of retrograde ejaculation, but no problems having sex. Really the only problem is that I still pee slowly.
