Spent the afternoon at B&N today, was there longer than planned because as I was about to leave, it was pouring out and I had no umbrella. Went back in and found an interesting book called "Mapping the Mind". It is something of a coffee table book, glossy, expensive. But interesting graphics and interesting text, too, on different aspects of the mind and brain, such as perception, emotions, memory, attention, laterality, etc. Chapter on emotions was particularly interesting to me, of course, and it explained some of how the amygdala, hippocampus, thalamus, and cortex work together in processing emotions.
