Merital was the name I was looking for. First psyc drug that
was ever prescribed to me, and it worked wonders. Few side
effects( a little sleeplesness) but it provided clarity
and peace of mind. Has any research been done on making
a drug close to that one, or it there a drug close to that
one? Only thing that comes close is a combo of Resperdal
and Wellbutrion....and they both work on dopamine...
Have stepped up to 1mg Resperdal PM & 150mg Wellbutrion AM.
Will make another Dr's appt this week. Are there many
other experiences or research on this combo?
Thanks, John

In the mid 80s I took an AD called Meritol which was incredibly effective for me. It was abruptly pulled from the market for health risk reasons. I think we may be talking about the same med. Perhaps I am not remembering the spelling correctly. Since then I have been searching for something comparable with absolutely no luck. No one even remembers Meritol. If we are talking about the same med I would like to look into those recommended by James and Jen. Any more input would be greatly appreciated!
