Marplan: the saga continues

Posted by Elizabeth on October 31, 1999, at 13:09:27

Argh.

This has been "telephoned" a few times, but what I gather is that pharmacist #1 called Oxford Pharmaceuticals and they said that Marplan won't be available for another month or two. (I got this from pharmacist #2 which is why it's rather sketchy.) This has me confused, as I thought it was already available.

So, if anyone here is in the U.S. and has taken Marplan, could you confirm for me that it is, indeed, available here - or if not, tell me how you got it? I'd appreciate it greatly.

Elizabeth,

Somebody's yanking your chain! This past July, I got Marplan from Osco Drugs in Hingham, MA (they called Oxford directly to get it) and from CVS nearby (they got it from their wholesaler after finally convincing the wholesaler that Marplan was NOT a discontinued drug.)

If I were you, I'd call yet another pharmacy - and then return and ream Pharmacists #1 and #2 new ones!

Judy

I have a website for Marplan in the event that I need to take it. I used it back in 1992-1994 when it was discontinued and I anticipate trying it again if I don't get a better response on the SSRI's and other med trials.

I tried to attach a hyperlink without success but this is the address for Marplan info:

www.oxfordpharm.com.
