Has anyone had any experience with Modafinil being used to treat ADD and depression? I have read some studies that show it can be helpful. Any thoughs on this drug?

I have tried a similar drug, Adrafinil (stimulates Alpha1 noradrenergic receptors). I can say that it is a great drug to take if you need to stay awake all night - its effect is fairly subtle, a kinder, gentler stimulant if you will. My experience was that it did nothing at all to improve mood though. If you have an atypical depression (oversleeping, lethargy) it could prove useful in combating those symptoms, but I wouldn't expect any relief from depression per se.
Might help with ADD.
YMMV, of course...

I don't have ADD, but yes, I tried modafinil. I found it overstimulating and jittery - it kept me awake but didn't help my concentration at all. However, I was taking Parnate at the time as well, so it may just be that the combination was overstimulating.
