Need Advice on New Med Combo

Posted by PL on July 26, 1999, at 7:52:35

I have currently begun a new cocktail and am trying to get some info on it.
Because I have refractory depression with suicidal idealizations my Psyc started me on the following:

Wellbutrin SR - 200 mg. twice a day, Klonopin - 1 mg. twice a day and Effexor XR 75 mg. a day. So far no side effects - or any effects but have just added the Effexor and increase in Kolopin.

I would appreciate it if anyone would let me know of any sites that have info on this combo or if any of you have experience with this. Thanks a bunch.

James here...

Effexor may take some getting used to. Sweeting and GI upset are common though many find this goes away with time. Take effexor with food to help with GI problems. Even in the XR effexor passes thru your system quickly so if you miss a dose many feel funny, so try not to miss a dose.
Let us hear about your progress, hope you feel better !

I couldn't tolerate the klonopin. It increased my depression to the point that I was crying uncontrollably at work and had a hard time speaking on the phone without breaking up. I called my psyc that day (from my car phone) and am diminishng the klon slowly so as not to cause any side effects. He said that klonopin can increase depression in some people.
