Kristine,

It's an MAO Type A Inhibitor. It's not approved by the FDA in the U.S. so I don't know much about it. (if Elizabeth checks in here, I know she'll be able to quote you chapter and verse.)

In the meantime, it goes by the brand names Manerix and Aurorex, so if you do a web search on either of those names or the generic name, you should find what you need to know.

Hope this gets you started.

Judy

Kristine, Judy's right. It is an MAO Inhibitor, but lacks the dietary restrictions of other MAOIs. I took a one day roundtrip to Canada to get some. Some drugs actually plunge me into deeper depression within hours. Moclobemide was one of them. At the top of the page, click on "tips", then go down and push the Search button, then scroll through all the topics and I believe there are some doctor discussions on Moclobemide that might help. And Judy's suggestion of a search will lead you to lots of info. Where do you live? Are you considering trying Moclobemide? JohnL.

Thanks for the info- I was just curious but I am not considering taking it. Still working on Celexa.
