I have been on Wellbutrin SR 150 mg for about a month, one dose in the early am and another late afternoon.
I am doing great so far except that i have been having a LOT of problem sleeping. I would really like to be able
to get a good night's sleep again. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what do do. As a last resort I am willing
to try additional meds for the insomnia although I would prefer something that is not going to create additional
side effects that are even worse than the insomnia. (BTW i have tried moving my second dose earlier in the day but
that has not helped much.)Thanks in advance for your advice.

A low dose of Remeron will work, with a light hangover feeling in early a.m.(goes away quickly) and maybe some weight gain being side effects. Low dose Serzone also, similar side effects. Low dose of a sedating tricyclic, like anafranil. The tricyclic Nortriptyline gave me great sleep, but drowsy days too. Low dose of Trazadone is a common add-on, with that same early morning mild hangover kind of side effect that goes away with the first coffee. These are all antidepressants as well. In the natural herbal arena, people use capsules or teas of valarien root, passionflower, hops, chamomile, and any combination of them. I found them somewhat helpful, but certainly not as sure-fire as a sedating antidepressant choice. There are so many choices, perhaps you should sleep on it. (Just joking) *grin* jamie

I have found trazadone very effective for insomnia, with no morning hangover at all. For occasional use, Ambien gives me the most restful sleep, but it has some memory problems as a side-effect and loses effectiveness if used continuously. Good luck!
