My sister is schizophrenic and recently her doc switched her med to seroquel. She seems worse off,
but i don't know. Does anyone have any experience with this drug/how long someone takes to adjust, etc?

I only take 25mg. Ask doc if more is needed.I used to be on Zyprexa, which worked, but it causes weight gain, I gained 40 pounds. Ihad progressed from dysthymia into a psychotic depression and was having auditory hallucinations. It worked, but I ate, ate, ate, and lost 10 pds @ Weight Watcher's. It's also called Olanzapine. Dr. Gorman's Essential Guide to Psychiatric Drugs tells about avail. meds & side fx.Also check, America's doctor, ask the pharmacist. Gorman is 1996, there may be something newer.
