Deletion of "thread"

Posted by cait on May 27, 1999, at 19:26:18

I keep checking the board, but I cannot find something that I posted. There was one response to my initial post, and then I added my response.

Why would a "topic thread" be deleted?

Hmm, do you remember when you posted the original message? Or what the "subject" was?

I only delete posts when they're duplicates. But maybe there's a malfunction somewhere...

Dear Dr. Bob,

I also noticed that probably some of the threads have been deleted, most recent example being "Zoloft & Marijuana Interactions." Maybe the topic or content were inappropriate...?

The topic was Allegra D & Lorazepam.

A recent thread about trichotillomania (sp?) has also disappeared. I am worried about the daughter of the woman who posted. She was waldo51, I think.

You all might check out the WebForums at http://neuro-www.mgh.harvard.edu/forum/

This type of "clearing out" doesn't happen there. Occasionally, some troll will cause problems, but the Webspinner takes care of problems like that only when the posts disrupt the forums.

And whatever you submit there, does not then "belong" to someone else (copyright)!

My post of May 21 or 22 "What do you think?" was deleted. It *did* originally appear twice. Oddly enough the responses are still listed under a different post dated May 7 "i don't even know what to put here".

Dr. Bob, It looks like any new thread started, or moved forward from previous months between May 8 and May 21 are now gone. Looks like zumzing has gone awry. Hope this helps.

PS. The Harvard Forums are not nearly as helpful or intellectually stimulating for me as this one, but I guess that's why there's chocolate and vanilla.

That certainly did help. Zumzing certainly did go awry! There were two long stretches of ascii 255 in the page. I've never seen anything like it, if any of you have, please let me know.

Anyway, the threads that were indeed unlisted should all be restored now. Sorry about the mix-up! (Please don't take what happened personally.)

Hi,

It's probably asking for trouble, but I had some more ideas for "improvements". Let me know if the site starts acting weird again...
