Pamelor

Posted by Kim on June 24, 1998, at 20:14:44

I was recently prescribed Pamelor for severe headaches
the physician belives he is treating a chemical
imbalance in the brain. My question is... My husband and I are planning to have a baby in May of 2000,
has this drug had a history of causing problems with
pregnancies or birth defects?
If so, is there anything else I can ask my physician
for? (the Pamelor has been working, but this worries me.)

Thank you, Kim

"Tricyclic" antidepressants like Pamelor
(nortriptyline) have been around a long time
(relatively speaking), and so we have some
experience with them. See:

for more discussion. Good luck!
