I only recently found this board and really have found it to be a wonderful forum to discuss our problem. I just wanted to get some feedback on this feeling I had tonight. After reading everything tonight, I had this feeling of- lets call it "helplessness". I am doing pretty good right now and when I read the posts, I wish I had all the answers and solutions for everyones questions and problems. Is this a normal reaction for a newbie? Nothing major, just looking for theories.

Michael,
This is not just a problem for newbies! I think whenever we are feeling well enough to see outside ourselves we wish we could provide *cures* for everyone. I find that it is even difficult to share a personal success because everyone is sooooo different and what works for me may not work for you. Just keep participating as best you can… Wayne

i am new also and i found myself thinking the same thing. what's funny is i find myself coming back everyday during my lunch hour. some days i feel that we are all hopeless in finding help and helping each other and other days i find this a wonderful resource and great to know that others are experiencing some of the same things. i think anytime you can have a question answered it is a good thing. i feel good just writing this pointless message to you. good luck.

I think it means you are compassionate, and feel for other's pain. And that it touches off a little of your own pain. I'm new here too. Hi.

It's funny I should find this post. Not only do I feel exactly the same way, but somehow,
I've become the 'mental health expert' at work. I was only diagnosed (for me it was more just
admitting I was depressed and needed help) a few months ago. In the small amount of time that
has passed, I have pointed several people in the direction of our company's Employee Assistance Program.
I have sent several to speak with our HR people and even walked a few down there myself. Somedays, as
much as I would like to help, I don't have the energy, or am just too depressed myself. My doctor
and I are still working on finding the right medication for me, so I still have some bad days. Thanks
This is the end of the thread.
