What are the withdrawls if any of Pamelor?

James here....

None to speak of (as with most TCA's) just taper the dose slowly.

Withdrawal is a word used with addictive substances, none of the traditional AD's are addictive

I think "rebound" is the politically correct term these days. :-)

As long as you don't stop all at once, but gradually decrease the dose, as James recommends, there shouldn't be any problem. The main things to watch for are rebound depression or, less commonly, mania or mixed mania. (A long list of reactions have been reported with tricyclic withdrawal that are rare enough that I don't want to alarm anyone by enumerating them!)

"Rebound" How politically correct of you. Why not alarm me with the rare possibilities? Are you standing to gain financially ?"(A long list of reactions have been reported with tricyclic withdrawal that are rare enough that I don't want to alarm anyone by enumerating them!)" If withdrawal symptoms exist, why not call a shovel a shovel. Now that's politically correct and it speaks to the way you may are evading an issue. I just came from a Paxil website. There were many stories of withdrawal. Is Pazil the same type of drug? I sugest you get on 20 - 40 mg of Paxil for a few months then try to get off of it. We'll see how politically correct you are then. I've been on Paxil and Pamelor for 5 months. I felt symptoms of WITHDRAWAL in 6 days. This cold-turkey was prescribed under a doc and Remeron was started. I've been dizzy, felt electric surges, felt what feels like a blood pressure spikes, night sweats, can't stay awake during day and can't sleep at night. A friend has ringing in his ears, anxiety, waves
of impulses, etc. We both are experiencing similar effects. Please help me shed some light on this uncovered secret. this is one time when the patients know more than the docs.

Something that *should* be withdrawn...

Linda, you must be new to this board, otherwise you'd know Elizabeth, the meds she's been on, the trials she's been through.

Your comments are quite uncalled for.

If that makes you angrier, then feel free to toss some heat my way, but through email. Dr. Bob asks few things of us here, but one is to "please be civil". Also of note when you first walk in the door to Babbleland are the words "This is a bulletin board for mutual education and support."

I'm sure you've got much to offer and much to learn, but please do try to get to know people around here before you decide to publically flame them ... and then remember the "please be civil" and don't flame them publically. As someone who has learned quite a lot from what she has had to offer in nine months I've been here, I know that Elizabeth does not deserve in any way the comments you've thrown her way.

Sincerely,
Bob
