Coumadin/SSRI (PAXIL) CONTRAINDICATION

Posted by Bob on March 6, 1999, at 0:48:15

Had been on COUMADIN since 1991 (heart valve replaced).
Began EMDR treatment for longstanding PTSD (since 1965/1969), and had flashbacks stop, but anxiety/depression symptoms continued. Family Doc and Therapist consulted - suggested Zoloft. I took Zoloft for about 2 years w/ Coumadin. Did OK until I left my job/lost health Insurance. Nearby free Clinic wouldn't touch Coumadin. Local Hospital clinic got me physician samples of Coumadin and Paxil (No zoloft available). I just heard Paxil and Coumadin CONTRAINDICATE! any ideas? Thanx- "Bob"

I am not a doctor but my mother has been on coumadin and paxil for many years, doing as well as can be expected for her age and condition (80 and cancer.)
