>I have been on just about every antidepressant out there. Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Effexor, Wellbrutin, Serzone, to name a few. Celexa has given me the least amount of side effects, although I've only been on it for about two weeks. So far I noticed being a little jittery and nauseated right after taking it. I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and was wondering if anyone has complained of fatigue from this drug. Also, I am a weightlifter, and was wondering if anyone has noticed any loss of strength with this drug because I heard that it could be a side effect. Any info from other women on this drug would be greatly appreciated. > I have been on this drug for three weeks and feel much better. All of my side affects are gone, but I feel anxious most of the time. Does any one know if this is a side affect or do you think it is from something else.
> I have been on Celexa for about 2 weeks and still feel anxious, also. My side effects are slowly going away that seemed so severe at first. I'd like to know if the anxiety is from something else or the meds.

I have been on Celexa since September 24th. I noticed almost immediate results. I'm on it for depression, anxiety, and OCD. I still feel anxious, depending on certain situations. However, the depression and OCD have been diminished greatly. I have searched high and low for side effects, drug interations, etc. The 1999 PDR does not even contain info on this drug. There is very little info provided by the pharmacist. My side effects have been severely decreased sexual libido, great tiredness, and inability to make myself exercise. I hate all of these side effects, but love the fact that my symptoms are so minimal now. My doctor and counselor keep telling me to push myself and try to at least walk or keep moving and hopefully the sleepiness will diminish.

< I have been on celexa for 5 weeks. I feel good, I'm on 20 mil. I've never been on antidepressants before celexa. (wait, thats not true, I tried paxil for 1 week and never got up out of my living room floor)As far as exercise I dance the tango and seem to have a lot of energy. I have also maintained muscle, therefore It has not affected my ability to work out. However, I do have one side effect and that is sexual.

I have just started using Celexa. How long does it take before the drug starts to take effect? I have not had a side effect of tiredness, but I have only taken the drug four days.

I have been on 40 mgs of Celexa for about 6 weeks. I have been on all of the other antidepressants, most notably, prozac at 80 mgs for 4 years. My feelings about celexa are mixed. I feel pretty good, but the sexual side-effects are still there (not as bad as prozac though). Also, I've noticed that it's not very good on the anxiety, but on the other hand I've had some significant weight loss! I have resigned myself to the fact that as long as I'm on anti-depressants, there just isn't going to be any great sex. Has anyone had good responses with Serzone over the long-haul???

I've been taking celexa for about two and a half weeks. My most noticeable side effects are yawning, decreased sex life(which sucks most), and sleepiness. I was perscribed this for anxiety but doesn't seem to rid of all the anxiety by far. Does anyone know if the side effects will go away or remain?

I began Celexa about 3 weeks ago and thus far I have been seeing some improvements. Having taken Prozac some four years ago I have also seen some improvements. Don't miss the point though, any drug taken must be used in combination with soal enriching experiences. You are in command of your life while Celexa is only a tempory stepping stone to reach your wildest dreams.

.I have been taking Celexa with depakote since September. I started the Celexa gradually at just
10mg/day. Too keep side effects minimal. When I
got up to 40mg/day, the world changed for me. Everything has been great. No side effects for me. I continue with Celexa and have even been able to lower my depakote to 500mg/day.

I am just starting Celexa 10mg. I had have such
terrible reactions to other medications for depression that I feel that this is my last chance. I also, have a panic disorder. I have been taking Activan o.5 on and off for the last four months. But I don't see any improvement. I would appreciate hearing from someone with the same kind of problem I have.

I've been taking Celexa since it was first released. I am unable to tolerate any of the other antidepressants at a theraputic level for a variety of unwanted side effects. I have read that 75% of people treated in Europe are on 20 mg daily. I take 20 mg at bedtime and I have not noticed any side effects. In the past, I used sex as a stress reducer for my depression. I felt like I had to have it. With Celexa I don't feel that way. I can go for days without it and not start a major argument by making it a priority. I have sex about 4x a week and I experience NO side effects. I am on a drug cocktail...I don't want to take up a whole page here, but if anyone would like to ask me any further questions, please feel free to email. I am a very open person and I don't think anything you would ask me would offend me

I take it in the morning with food, the only problem I have is some anxiety and in the evening my legs feel twitchy.

Well, now, are you certain that the anxiety has nothing to do with a cycling up toward mania?
Have you ever been disturbed by mixed-states? That is, do you comorbidly experience depression and mania, ever?

Perhaps your doctor would consider polypharmacy, since you seem to react strongly to celexa's side effects. He could put you on a lower dose of celexa and a low dose of some other AD, like wellbutrin. So now, you would have double the AD benefits of two neuroleptics but, with minimal propensity for side-effects.

Hello, Merry X-mas/Happy New Year. I have been using Celexa for a month now and I am happy with the results. I was put on it for stress induced hives I haven't had a hive breakout since I started taking it. I am on 20mg daily and I take it in the early evening. I have not had any negative side effects as of yet. I do experience an increase in yawning at night and my eyes use to tear more (has stopped), but that is it. I am very pleased with the results. I am able to control the stress in my life. I will continue to keep in touch.

Don't be too quick to dismiss the fact that you are depressed. You must expect these symptoms until they can be medically corrected. Only you can tell if it be the fault of the pharmacopoeia. But, it's a bit ironic to think that the med which was well intended to diminish your physical discomforts would actually be causing you harm?}.

I was perscribed this for anxiety but doesn't seem to rid of all the anxiety by far. Does anyone know if the side effects will go away or remain? ***{The real trick in medicine is knowing the side-effects from the symptoms. Where does one end and the other begin? If side-effects are a problem for you. You probably have the option to polypharmacy. Taking a very low dose of two or three different ADs greatly diminishes any side-effects, while giving you the coverage you need to fend off depression.}

Hey, if all else fails, there's always ECT.

Dear Ginny,

That's interesting that you experienced
anxiousness with Celexa. I, on the other hand
am only taking 5 miligrams and feel
kind of sedated. I just started taking Celexa
about a week ago. I need to boost my amount, but
I am afraid it will make me too tired. Did
you ever experience any kind of sleepiness?
I am actually taking it for anxiety/panic disorder.
My anxiety has gone away, but now I feel kind of
slow and sleepy.

Mild stomach upset the first few days was the only bad thing about it, & that wasnt to bad. Any guys that have been having hair loss please respond. Thank you.
