hi my name is Ann and I am new to this board. I suffer from anxiety, with few pannick attacts and depression. First time this as ever hapened to me. Started aboutut six months, thought there has to be something wrong with me went to everry doctor has all kinds of test done, while all aong they were telling me it was just anxieity, which led me into a deep depresseion. I couldn't even stand to be alone, much less go anywhere without someone being with me. Finally decided to give in and go to PSY and therapist. I was put on Serzone and Xanan. Within the first week I noticeced a big improvement. but as time went on second or third week i started experiencing extreme tirdeness. Mostly in the afternoon, knew this just was a side effect of the medicine, but then had two or three days where I could barely get out of bed. Called PSY, she said it was the combination of the Xanax and the Serazone. She reduced the Serazone until she can ween be off the Xanax which I take .50 three times a day and Serzon now 200mg. a day.sometimes I also get shakiness, tremor likes in my hands, doesn't last long. Anyway enough babble, questions is as any of you tried Serazone and had success with it, does the side effects go away. I heard they do in about 3 months. I have been on it for a month and 3 weeks now.. I want to stick with it. Don't want to give up to soon because it has helped with my depression. But having a hard time practicing my therapy excercise, like driving alone, going places alone etc.. beause of the tiredness. I also do not work, so it is easy for me to just lay down when I feel tired, instead of staying busy which they say would combat the tirdness. I'm new to this any suggestions? Thanks ,ann

Good for you :)
But please don't think of your seeking help as "giving in." I suffer from anxiety and depression, but I haven't found the COURAGE to go for professional help.

Sounds like you are making progress because *something* is helping you with the depression, and you are not giving up too soon because you are seeking answers.

I just recently found this site, and I think you will probably get some answers here. The people who have responded to my posts have been concerned and kind. I have read numerous "threads" that seemed to be posted by knowledgeable professionals. But don't believe everything you read!

One suggestion--if you enjoy flowers, you might begin a small garden or get a few special houseplants. Nothing lifts my depression like seeing new, soft green leaves unfurl or watching the progress of a delicate flower as its petals unfold. yes--I'm probably weird ;)

Don't give up.
