Serzone and headaches

Posted by Patty on March 2, 1999, at 19:47:38

I have a friend who began taking Serzone recently and she has been plagued with headaches. Anyone had this experience? If so, does it go away?

I had terrible headaches with Serzone. For most people this should be a transient side effect. I did not stay on it long enough to tell. I've heard about it doing wonders for a couple of people, but it put me in a complete fog.

They did not go away for me. I feel like Serzone was intensifying all the problems it was supposed to be making go away!!! It was driving me crazy! Literally.

Serzone is working great for me except for tiredness. I had headaches at first but they went away, I have been on it for 2 months. It takes awhile for the side effects to go away as I have read on other boards. Just need to give it time, I am also on a low dose of 200mg.

I have been attempting contact with this group for some time and there never seems to be anyone to respond. Is this an active group?

Hi Brenda. I was on Serzone for a while & it made me kinda sleepy. But everyone reacts differntly to meds. You might check the archives there should be lots of info on Serzone. Good Luck.

Serzone usually helps people to sleep. A lot of people take Effexor along with something else to help with sleep. Hopefully the Serzone will relieve your depression. Give it a month or so. If it doesn't, maybe you could go back on Effexor and add something to help you sleep such as Trazodone, Remeron, or Serzone. Please keep in touch. I would like to know what happens. Thanks.

> Thanks Bill L. I went off the Effexor because of the jitteriness plus plus and horrible insomnia. I can't take sleep aids. Too hungover to go to work the next day. Serzone seems to be working. I am not back to work yet and have not tried it without the sedative (Imovane or Benadryl). I plan to experiment soon. Am going back to work April 1st and need to be ready.
