stopping Eff*itch*or. Luvox next.

Caramba!!
I started Effexor a week or two ago and was doing okay
but the last four nights, lasting about two hours, I itched like crazy! Saw my P-pharmdoc for a scheduled appt. this morning and he said the itching would not get better.

We kicked it around and decided to start Luvox 50mg tonight and 25mg AM beginning tomorrow. I'll keep ya'll posted. Right now I am in the "itching hours" so I need to get busy scratching.

When I say itch, I mean it's right up there with poison ivy. No rash though. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!

> Phil,

I didn't have the itching on the trial of Effexor we did, but I itched like crazy on Zoloft. It felt like every square inch of skin on my body itched. The only thing that helped at all were oatmeal baths. There's a bath line called Aveeno, which has bar soap and stuff you can pour into a tub of water which tones down the itching a little. I put up with it for about 3 weeks before I just couldn't stand it any more, and we discontinued Zoloft.

Th Dr. said that I'm allergic to the Zoloft. That's my only drug allergy that I know of.

I hope things improve for you quickly.

Carol

>>Thanks Carol...I don't see how you took it for three weeks! As bad as I itched last night, I started laughing at the thought of someone seeing me like this. Anyone else had this reaction?

Phil,
I started itching pretty bad we I was up to 300mg
a day of wellbutrin, I called my doc withna couple
days and she said quit taking it-and that I was
alergic to it at that dose. Have you told your
doc? No one should have to endure that-the cure is
almost worse that the originalproblem. Good Luck.
sincerely
dave
