paroxetine

i was prescribed the drug seroxat some months ago for deppression but have recently stooped taking them. are there strange side affects from doing this

The data sheet for Seroxat (Paroxetine) warns of a discontinuation reaction, as does the leaflet that comes in the packet.
Symptoms such as dizzyness, anxiety, sweating, shaking and insomnia are not uncommon. They do however tend to pass after a week or so. Hope this helps. James

I have heard that discontinuation of Paxil should be done very, very slowly to avoid severe side effects like you described above. Another suggestion is to prescribe Prozac during the discontinuation phase. This should be done under the direction of your doctor.

about 2 1/2 weeks ago i took 1/2 a tablet of paroxetine on prescription and had a violen reaction to it. i was delirious the whole night and unable to sleep. i stille feel affected by it with disturbed thoughts, insomnia and anxiety to an extent i never had before. i'd be grateful for any suggestions.
