effects of benzodiazepines on basal ganglia?

Does anyone know what effects Klonopin and Ativan have on the basal ganglia, in particular the striatum? What do these drugs do to dopamine levels in this part of the brain? The answer to this question will affect a choice of medications (so it's of more than merely academic interest).
