Adult ADD - Prozac and Wellbutrin suppliment

Posted by CP Smith on September 26, 1998, at 23:15:57

Has anyone had experience combining Prozac and Wellbutrin. I have done some reading on Prozac and seem to be exhibiting some of the emotional side effects - emotional numbness and progressively decreasing ambitions, that can be associated with SSRI usage. Wellbutrin seems to overcome these side effects and can be used concurrently.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Numbness - I think I quit feeling - it was pretty bad and I did not know it was even happening until I was almost non-functional - not depressed either.

My doctor switched me to Wellbutrin at the time we stopped the Prozac - but I crahed (became chemically depressed due to withdrawal? or just depressed/) so he gave me Cytomel .025 once a day with the Wllbutrin and Dexedrine. I felt better almost immediately. This is the 5th day on Cytomel and going into 3rd week on Wellbutrin and feel better than ever.

The numbness is not uncommon. I am glad yourecognized it - Ireceived e-mail from people who ffnally realize what has been wrong with them for a very long time and are discussing the problem gfor the 1st time with their doctor. ThankGod for these boards.

Good luck!!
