This is really, really a wonderful poem. And believe it or not, it's essentially about the exact same thing as my new poem below. There's even a shared metaphor. Your use of musical notes coming together in your second verse is something I use explicitly in one place (albeit in Atticus-ese) and throughout the whole poem. Obviously, two minds on the same wavelength, although, typically, you don't allow yourself to plunge into the romanticism without applying a dash of critical thinking about love's paradoxes in the final line. You are really a superb poet at this point, and you just keep getting better. I love the fact that our poetic "voices" are so different in tone; in this case, it's like the same thought expressed in two genres of music. This is fun. I really missed this over the past couple of days. :) Atticus
