Hey, it's okay. God is watching you. I think you are a person of faith. Comfort in that God sees you. He knows you. Everything about you. All the things about you. The wonderful great kind-hearted things about you. Also other things about you. All the things that you don't like about you. He sees those things too. And even the things you have done that were wrong. He sees those things. And he knows they are wrong. He doesn't deny it. He doesn't have rose-colored glasses when it comes to you. He sees you. For good and bad. And... He chooses to love you, anyway.
Why not choose to believe in a God who loves you?
Why not?
What's the alternative? Choose to believe in a God who hates you? Why do that?
Choose to believe in a God who doesn't know you? One who doesn't see your wrongs and bads? Why do that?
Why not choose to believe in a God who knows EVERYTHING about you and who CHOOSES to love you, anyway.
Why not believe in a God like that?
It's a version of the ontological argument for the existence of God that I came up with (constructed or conceived of or whatever) during the lock-down.
I like my version because it places free will centre-stage. Why not choose to believe in a God who chooses to love you?
You don't have to. But why not choose to believe?
AAAAAAAAH. I went. 'Now I understand about free will'. When I thought of it.

I tried to explain to a Professor of Psychiatry (apparently he is) in the teaching hospital of Auckland. And he thought it was evidence of psychosis.
I think it is evidence of brilliance, actually. But I don't suppose he was concerned, at all, with issues of choice and free will (vs compliance) during the lock-down like so many people of the world were.
I think it is time for him to go.
