Talking about hibernating, it was Corpus Cristie here recently with numerous really heavy saints being carried along by 50 people or so, often with a couple of tons of concrete just to give the feeling of suffering.
But in the past, before the Christian dispensation, the mummies of the Incas were brought, each from his own palace, and paraded around the Plaza de Armas. With plenty of attention, women to wave off the flies, plenty of food and drink.
People should not worry about being mad, they really shouldn't.
I must say I am enjoying harina de coca mixed with a little Jamaican rum.
