I've been taking 1000 I.U. of vitamin D3 for a long time, maybe a year. Right now I also take a multivitamin which has 400 I.U. of vitamin D3, so now I'm getting 1400 I.U.

My vitamin D is 119 and normal range is 76-250. I figure I can take a little more vitamin D without harm.
