pop-can rollers

When I was a teenager the 'in' style was straight bangs & smooth hair with a flip at the bottom (I guess 'teasing' also played a part, although I never teased my hair).

My hair, being curly, posed a great challenge.

My Dad hammered holes in pop cans & I used them as rollers, bobby-pinned to each other. I had shoulder length hair so it took a long time to dry so I'd walk around looking like someone from a space ship! sigh.

The things I did to try to be like those who were 'in'.
