Even so, this is very interesting.
I have heard of people from India who are horrified to be close to 'people who wipe'.
In Japan I actually found myself in one of those toilets you may have heard about that are supposed to wash and dry you after defaecation. Unfortunately it was freezing so I did not try out this particular function. It was interesting to see a place with public services.
