When I got my first license I went into the sleepy flat country town and we drove around the block doing left hand turns only.
Parking wasn't an issue because there were so few cars.
But my sister had it easier. They just said to her
'You know how to drive, don't you?' and wrote the license out.We did know how to drive too, being country people.
With a binge drinking culture since the beginning, Australia would also have spectacular road smashes. Now everything is different, except for the fact that Australia is still a place of binge drinking with spectacular road smashes.
