Jeezey Louisey, I wouldn't dream of correcting anyone!! I might say to my daughter or husband or son, "Honey, I think that's pronounced ...such & such." OR "Hun, do you mean 'specific'? but I would only do that if I thought they might embarrass themself by saying something REALLY wrong."

Recently my daughter, who is VERY well-versed in words (our whole family loves words, so it's unusual for someone to mispronounce them) anyway, my daughter pronounced Thames (as in the river) the way it looks: thames instead of "tems"!!! I was astonished that she didn't know how to pronounce it!!! She was amazed also & we both had a laff.
