Oh, it's my husband and son. I feel kind of funny talking about it. But at midnight when we were supposed to be welcoming in the new year, my son was in tears, this time because he fell asleep before midnight, though he woke up for midnight. Everything was tense, and the whole house was miserable. I slept in my study.

And over Christmas I felt like Henry Kissinger going from one hostile nation to another trying to broker a Christmas cease fire.

It felt like being back in my family of origin.

I don't like it one bit, and I see no possibility of improvement. Adolescence is coming up and I don't know if my husband will make it through.

I just don't know why everything has to turn into such a major deal. My son gets invited to a friend's house, and you'd think someone died by the way my husband reacts. And there is no good answer. He can't just say no and forget it, and he just can't say yes and forget it. He has to stew and stew about it.

Everything is always such a big deal.
